Hampton schoolboy Ashley Bryant clinched a quartet of medals, including two golds, in the Middlesex Track and Field Championships at Barnet Copthall Stadium, Hendon.

International all-rounder Bryant was 20cm below his personal best in winning the junior men's pole vault with 4m, but was some 10m below his best in winning the discus with 29.17m.

He picked up a silver medal in the 110m hurdles in 15.07 seconds, and was third in the long jump with 6.71m.

On a busy day, in which he competed in five events, Bryant also contested a high standard 100m event where, despite clocking a PB time of 11.32, he failed to progress further than his opening round heat in which he was fourth.

St Mary's Richmond's Carl Assmundson was the only competitor in the junior men's 3,000m event, where he won the gold medal in 9:28:03.

Two other St Mary's winners were Sean Lee, who took the men's U17 high jump with 1.73m, and Lydia Tella, who clinched the gold medal in the women's U17 shot with 9.54m.

Clubmate Kate Brook took silver in the senior women's 400m hurdles in 64.6 while Rebecca Townsend was second in the junior women's 800m in 2:49:96. Lucy Edmunds was second in the women's U17 1,500m.

Taylor Nunn was third in the men's U17 1,500m steeplechase in 5:23:25, and Beccy Culverwell was third in the junior women's 400m in 61:20.

Epsom & Ewell's veteran Wendy Dunford won the senior women's discus with 26.73m, took the silver medal in the shot with 9.40m and was fourth in the hammer with 29.46m.

Belgrave's Mike Peacock won the senior men's javelin with 40.70m, while Belgrave veteran John Hall took the silver medal in the senior men's 3,000m walk in 15:41.45. Maureen Noel took silver in the senior women's 3,000m walk in 17:53.37.
