Tadworth AC's cross-country runners took part in the South of the Thames 7.5 Mile Championships at Farthing Down, Couldson on Saturday.

First home for the club was Peter Mills, 91st of 284 in 52 minutes 13 seconds, followed closely by Dave Williamson, 98th in 52:46.

Next was Roland Hogg, 257th in 1.11:04. The team was completed by Mary Matthews, 264th and second woman over-60, running with husband Alan, 265th, both finishing in 1.12:15.

The annual Tadworth Ten-mile race will be held on Sunday January 4 2015, starting at 11.30am from Epsom racecourse.

The challenging multi-terrain race takes in the Epsom Downs, Walton-on-the-Hill and Tadworth, regularly attracting an entry of more than 700 runners.

There are prizes for individuals in all age groups as well as male and female teams. Proceeds from the event will provide support for local charities.
