Hercules Wimbledon Athletic Club runners dominated the Wimbledon Common parkrun on Saturday providing winners for both the men's and women's events.

In addition, Hercules Wimbledon provided the top two finishers in the women's race and two of the three top men to cross the finishing line.

The outstanding performance came from over-40 veteran Peter Collins who posted his first parkrun victory in his 147th appearance, clocking 18 minutes 10 seconds.

He also posted the top male age-graded performance in winning by 19 seconds.

Clubmate Adam Harwood was third in 18:40 with teenager Elliot Laville, competing in the event for the first time for a year, posting a personal best time of 19:06 in finishing seventh of the 338 runners.

Simon Bodle was first over-50 veteran finishing 10th in 19:43, with Charles Hampden-Smith fourth over-50 in 18th place (20:14).

Hercules Wimbledon's Lisa Thomas and Gina Galbraith were first two in the women's race.

Over-45 veteran Thomas posted the day's top age-graded performance in finishing 23rd in 20:26, with Galbraith crossing the line in 20:33.

In other parkruns, Madeleine Casey was third woman in Old Deer Park in 25:54, Heather Letley was fourth woman at Gillingham in 24:26, Hannah Bye was sixth woman in Cardiff in 22:31 and Zoe Illis was eighth woman in Richmond Park in 22:33.

Hercules Wimbledon's Kieran White helped the RAF to second team place in an international air force cross-country match in Poland.

He finished 14th in the 10km race in 35:31, with the RAF finishing behind hosts Poland, but beating the air force teams from the US, Belgium, Holland and Germany.

This weekend, Hercules Wimbledon runners are in action over Parliament Hill Fields, north London.

The seniors are competing in the London cross-country championships while the club's younger members will be running for various London boroughs in the London Youth Games cross-country races.
