Herne Hill Harriers’ U15 girls were the club’s highest placed finishers at the National Road Relay Championships in Birmingham.

The trio of Eloise O’Shaughnessy, Saskia Millard and Lucy Olsen finished seventh at Sutton Park, 47 seconds adrift of the team in the bronze medal position.

Olsen and Millard were 24th and 25th fastest individuals, with O’Shaughnessy in 34th.

Harriers U15 girls' squad of Clarissa Nicholls, Lulu King and Lily Newton finished eighth, with Nicholls marginally the fastest of the threesome - an U15 girls' B team placed 14th.

Despite the top-10 showing from the girls’ squads, it was Oscar Millard who proved to be the standout individual performer, coming third in his U13 boys category.

Millard’s team ultimately finished 11th.

In other junior results, the U17W were 18th, the U17M 31st and the U15B 33rd.

Herne Hill’s senior men finished a creditable 39th out of 77 teams, with Chris Busaileh – fresh from his victory a week earlier in the Streatham Common 6 – impressing with an opening leg that pushed the team into 26th.

The team – bolstered by GB cross country international Lewis Lloyd – eventually slipped back through the field to finish in 39th.

Elsewhere, Robin Jones was 18th at the Chester marathon, clocking two hours 41 minutes 34 seconds – a time that places him just outside the top 50 M40 marathoners in 2014.

Alex Marks was 923rd in 3.46:42, Jonathan Ratcliffe, meanwhile, was 28th at the Brussels marathon in 2.53:45, while Laura Dowsing was 44th at the Bournemouth marathon in 3.43:16.

Mohammed Ismail was a winner at the River Thames half marathon in 1.15:55, and Jonathan Phillips was sixth in 1.19:57.

Penel Cummings was fifth in the open 10km walk for women at the British Athletics and RWA Championships at Hillingdon, covering the distance in 1.00:18.

In the pick of parkrun results, Mike Boyle was second at Dulwich, clocking 17:13, while Fabien Rosso ran a personal best of 17:37 in fourth.

Tom Conlon was fourth at Wimbledon Common in 17:36, and Tom Boswell third at Crystal Palace in 18:42.
