Sutton and District was well represented over the weekend at the Surrey Athletic Championships held at Kingsmeadow.

Joel Mcfarlane had a great couple of days winning the 200m in a time of 28.21 and comming second in the 100 m in 13.67 and second in the long jump with a jump of 4.42 metres, Jordan russel came 6th in the 100 metres in a time off 14.38.

In the 800 metres Tom Harmsworth finished 2nd in 2mins 20.87 which was a personal best and Ben Charnock 5th in 2min26.45.In the boys u15s Shaun Cooke had an outstanding meeting winning the 400 m in 54.07 and finishing 3rd in the 200 m in 24.13.

In the 800 m sutton based Tom Holden finished 3rd in a time of 2m04.23 with James hancock 5th in 2.09.48.

Tom Holden won the 1500 m in 4.16 .39 smashing the 15 year championship record. In the javelin Craig Rawlings finished 3rd with a throw of 26.16 m.

In the u17s boys there was a great effort by George munt finishing 2nd in the 400 m with a personal best of 50.38 and a 3rd place in the 200 m in 23.57. Daniel Ghosh finished 2nd in the shot putt with a throw of 13.22 m . In the Under 20s Adam taylor finished 2nd in the 400 m in a time of 51.59 , and in the 1500 m Alex Penfold finished 6th in 4min 17 .

In the girls U13S 100 M final Sophia Henlon ran a great race to finish 2nd in a time of 13.81. Jennifer Nicholson had a great couple of days with a 1st place in the javelin with a throw of 20.90 a 3rd in the discus 18.25 m and a 4th in the shot put 7.09. In the 100 m Racquel forbes-welch finished 4th in 13.27 and in the 200 m 5th in 28.59. In the 400 m Sarah Rawlings finished 3 rd in 68.04.
