The Hollyfield School swimming team travelled to Trinity School Croydon for the Annual Secondary School Swimming championships .

The boys swam well especially as they were against competitors in their groups, a year older than themselves.

John Beddingfield was first to swim in the U14 100m backstroke. His plucky swim against exceedingly fast swimmers was admired. Ian Andrews was next in the U19 4x25m Individual Medley his performance marred by a faulty second turn.

William Shand swam in the U14 100m freestyle producing a personal best time on the previous weekend set at the Surrey Championships. Dominic McAleenan was the last to swim in the U16 100m freestyle.

The girls were led by Rachel Irving in the U16 100m butterfly event. Alice Langstone U14 100m backstroke and Alex Andrews U14 100m freestyle provided gritty swims earning them each a credible third place in very fast heats. Leanne Wheeler in the U16 100m freestyle also came home in third place.
