Sussex have granted Surrey permission to speak with Wandsworth cricketer Rory Hamilton-Brown over a switch back to the Brit Oval next summer.
The 22-year-old former England U19 international quit the Brown Caps in 2007 over a lack of first-class opportunities, but is wanted by cricket manager Chris Adams to captain the side next summer.
Hamilton-Brown, who played for Weybridge during his spell with Surrey, played a starring role for the Sharks last year as they lifted the Twenty20 Cup and reached the final of the Friends Provident Trophy in the summer.
