Cheam's winning run ended

12:27pm Wednesday 16th July 2008

Cheam's run of success in the New Surrey League ended with defeat in both the rinks and triples games. At South London, the home team overcame a 12 shot deficit at the halfway stage to beat Cheam by eight shots.

It was particularly disappointing for Gareth McDonagh's rink, leading at ten ends, but taking only three of the 11 eleven to lose by nine shots.

Mike Haigh's rink was 15-6 up at the 14th but couldn't stop Lee Dickson from picking up eight shots to narrow the final gap to only four.

Meantime, Alan Gover, James Fitzgerald, Dan Morris and Mike McDonagh won comfortably 22-5, but that margin was more than countered by a 14-22 defeat for John Parsons.
