Two serious injuries compounded a tough afternoon for Brentford as Queens Park Rangers scored three times in 10 minutes to overturn a one-goal deficit.

The Sky Bet Championship’s leading scorer Neal Maupay drew first blood in the thrilling west London derby after he nodded the ball home on 24 minutes.

But the striker, who now has 12 goals to his name, was stretchered off on the stroke of half-time after suffering a concussion.

QPR shot out the blocks and found the back of the net three times – through Joel Lynch, Massimo Luongo, and Nakhi Wells – to take a comfortable lead.

After Henrik Dalsgaard pulled one back for Brentford, Said Benrahma was forced off with an injury as the Bees suffered another away league defeat.

Here’s how Brentford’s players performed…

Daniel Bentley – 6 – All three goals were softly conceded. He was rightly furious about the first, unlucky for the second, and the third was just poor defending overall. Tough day for him overall.

Henrik Dalsgaard – 7 – Scored a neat goal late when Brentford needed it most, however, he founded himself up against it with Jake Bidwell and Luke Freeman.

Ezri Konsa – 7 – Nakhi Wells caught him out for the third, despite his attempts to cut out Wszolek’s cross. Despite the scoreline, he and Mepham defended very well for most periods.

Chris Mepham – 7 – Similar to Konsa, both individually performed well and the entire defence has itself to blame for the goals conceded.

Moses Odubajo – 6 – Despite his speed, Odubajo was caught out quite a few times. Made a risky – yet successful – challenge in the box that could’ve been a penalty.

Josh McEachran – 7 – He was impressive in midfield with some key interceptions and passes when Brentford were on the front foot. Replaced by Josh Dasilva.

Nico Yennaris – 6 – An all-round decent showing. Some good tackles, though Ebere Eze was a handful.

Romaine Sawyers – 7 – His pass into Benrahma set Brentford on their way to the opener before Maupay cleaned it up. Made a goal-line clearance when QPR pressed for the equaliser.

Said Benrahma – 7 – The winger made things happen down his flank with effective trickery and footwork but the finishing was lacking. Suffered an ankle injury, replaced by Josh Clarke.

Sergi Canos – 6 – Improved on a fairly mediocre first half in the second 45 minutes. Had a half-chance to score but the ball didn’t bounce his way.

Neal Maupay – 7 – Show great confidence and instinct to score the opening goal. It’s a shame his outing was cut short with a serious head injury.
