London Welsh head coach Rowland Phillips does not want his side to forget their 27-3 mauling at the hands of Ealing after labelling the defeat unacceptable.

Former London Welsh man Alex Davies kicked the visitors into a 12-0 half-time lead ast Old Deer Park, on his way to a personal haul of 17 points, and second half tries from Alex Bradley and Jamie Stephenson made sure of the win for Ealing.

The result moved the visitors off the foot of the Championship table, while condemning the exiles to their fifth defeat of the campaign and ninth spot ahead of tomorrow’s British & Irish Cup trip to Cornish Pirates.

“I’ve got a history with this club, I’m proud of this club and I know what I means to play for it, and it hurts to see performances like that,” said Phillips.

“Normally the British & Irish Cup would now bring the opportunity for a change of focus and a few fresh faces, but we can’t just draw a line under this and move on.

“It was so poor and so disappointing.”
