Brentford boss Mark Warburton says his players are hungry to prove news of his impending exit from Griffin Park will not derail their push for the play-offs.

The Bees have lost two games and dropped out of the Championship's top six since it was reported last week the 52-year-old was set to leave the club in the summer.

Bees owner Matthew Banham officially confirmed that speculation this week citing a difference in footballing philosophies between himself and the current management team.

The manager, assistant David Weir and sporting director Frank McParland will all move aside as Benham introduces a European-style management structure at the club.

Warburton has a maximum of 18 games in charge to secure a dream slot in the Premier League as a parting gift to fans, who fear the off-field upheavel has dealt a killer blow to promotion hopes.

But the manager believes the situation has only fired up his men ahead of Saturday's visit from promotion rivals AFC Bournemouth.

"Many people ahve suggested that this is the end of the season and that mid-table obscurity beckons," he told the club's website.

"That is awful for this group of players have shown their quality in abundance throughout this season.

"They are hungry and are angry about some of the comments made and they want to put it right."
