Boss Mark Warburton has revealed he is using Burnley boss Sean Dyche's method for landing promotion from the Championship - if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Andre Gray notched his 11th goal of the season to give Brentford a 1-0 triumph at Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday to keep the Bees firmly placed in the play-offs.

The 23-year-old former Luton Town hitman has started 25 of his side's 26 league games this season with Warburton chosing to field a settled starting line-up rather than rotate his playing resources.

Dyche used the same approach last term as Burnley claimed the second automatic promotion slot behind champions Leicester City.

Warburton is hoping to add one or two new faces to his squad during the January gtransfer window as he bids to mastermind an assault on a second promotion in successive seasons.

He has pointed out it is unlikely his starting line-up will change significantly between now and the end of the season.

And there would be no rest for the likes of Gray.

"Young players like Andre want to play," he said after Saturday's triumph.

"I'm a big believer in consistency. Rotation is good if you have a big squad and are involved in the Champions League.

"But for me I'd rather use a smaller number of players and maintain a consistent selection.

"When you look at Burnley last season they only used 13 or 14 players and you look at what Sean achieved."

He added: "We're looking at a number of British and foreign targets and are close to bringing one or two in.

"But they've got to fit into the dressing room. We have good harmony and the wrong character in the dressing room could spoil that.”
