London Scottish scrum half Jamie Stevenson cannot wait to put the nightmare of last term behind him and win his number nine shirt back, writes Andy Weston.
The 22-year-old Scotland A international missed most of last term with a serious knee injury but has played a full part in pre-season clashes with Glasgow Warriors, Saracens and Esher in August.
The exiles kick off their Championship campaign at home to Rotherham tomorrow as they bid for a top four finish, having finished fifth last term.
And Stevenson is ready.
“We want to use this game to set down a marker for the team’s around us,” he said.
“Last year we were very close to the top four and over the last few seasons we have progressed a lot. We are an ambitious club that wants to be in the play-offs.”
He added: “I don’t want a repeat of last year.
"I want to stay fit, play well and get my starting spot back.”
