Rosslyn Park head coach Alex Codling said a tough start to the new National League One season is the perfect recipe for his team.

Park go to Coventry this weekend for the season curtain raiser, before hosting Blackheath the following weekend and then going back on the road twice at Fylde and Loughborough.

Codling said: “Being away from home in three of the first four games really focuses the mind and we know we have to start strong from the very beginning.

“Pre-season is great in terms of seeing where we are as a team, but this is where it counts.”

Codling is sweating on the fitness of Hugo Ellis and Kiba Richards ahead of the season’s start.

He said: “We’ll know more about their situation on Thursday, but apart from that we’re going into Saturday with a full squad.”

Park ended their pre-season campaign last weekend with a 36-0 win over Southend.
