Met Police chief Jimmy Cooper has already started the process of rebuilding his squad for next term and has warned only a few will survive the chop.

The Blues ended a disappointing campaign with Surrey Senior and London Senior Cup final defeats to Woking and AFC Wimbledon respectively.

Cooper has been shocked by his side’s lack of desire over the closing months of the campaign and has vowed to rid his squad of those players thought to be past their sell-by date.

Striker Bradley Hudson-Odoi is under contract next term, while Cooper hopes to retain the services of Charlie Collins, Matt Pattison, Will Salmon, Elliott Taylor and Tom Bird – depending on budget constraints.

“The two cup defeats summed our season in terms of silly mistakes that have cost us.

“That has happened to us all year,” said Cooper.

“In the past month or so of the season, something has not been right.

“People have wound down too early and then it is difficult to raise your game on the big occasion.

“We have had a budget cut for next season so things need to change anyway, but we need massive changes.

“I want young hungry players looking to progress their own careers and we have only got a few of those.”
