Sophie Mace’s third national sportshall athletics shot title in as many years helped Surrey U15 girls lift the team title in Manchester last Sunday.
 

Walton Athletics Club team-mate Hetty Taylor  won a silver in the two-lap relay, while Sam Mace, Sophie’s brother, won a cleansweep of gold (two-lap relay), silver (shot) and bronze (one-lap relay) for the U13 boys team.
 

Walton’s Sawatomo Yamakawa threw 38.28 metres to win the U15s boys javelin at Hercules Wimbledon’s Young Athlete’s Open meeting on Sunday.
Yamakawa also leapt 5.98m to win the long jump and clocked 12.19 seconds for the 100m on a busy day for the youngster.
 

For Kingston AC & Polytechnic Harriers, there were wins for Amelia Bell (U13 girls 100m & 200m),  Mica Powell (U15 girls 200m), Annabel Hobday (U15 girls 200m), Eleanor Arnfield (U17 girls 800m), Olly Wilson (U13 boys 1,000m), Harry Reynolds (U17 boys 1,500m), Mollie O’Sullivan (U15 girls 1,500m), Rhianna Reynolds (U15 girls long jump) and Rory McCann (U20 men’s javelin).
 

Paralympic hero David Weir clocked three minutes 32.07 seconds to win the 1,500m at the Surrey County Disability Championships at Kingsmeadow on Saturday.
