Director of rugby Steve Hill has revealed a few home truths are behind Richmond’s revival, but has warned they are not free from the threat of relegation just yet.
A stunning second half comeback saw Hill’s men recover from going 17 points down to Tynedale to win 32-24 thanks to tries from Rob Alexander, Tom Sargeant (two), Dan Parkinson and a penalty try.
It propels Richmond seven points clear of the relegation zone and Hill believes his side’s change of fortune came from an honest sit-down before victory over Loughborough Students two weeks ago.
“We took a long hard look at ourselves before the Loughborough game, made a few adjustments and it’s come to fruition,” said Hill.
“But there is a huge amount of rugby left to be played and we’ve got a big period coming up.”
