Walton Athletics Club’s Anna Gilmour helped her team to a fourth place finish in the Surrey Ladies Cross Country Division Two match at Coulsdon on Saturday.

Gilmour clocked 25 minutes 29 seconds to lead Walton home with Jo Locker stopping the clock at 26:14 to come in ninth.

Their efforts ensured Walton finished one place ahead of near neighbours Elmbridge Road Runners for whom Nikki Nicholson finished 13th in a time of 27:12.

The result meant that Elmbridge retained fourth in the divisional table after two races, with Walton – who were 10th in the table at the start of the day – adrift of the promotion hunt in sixth.

Kingston AC & Polytechnic Harrier Phoebe Law won the U17 girls race with the 16-year-old clocking 16 minutes nine seconds to win her age group by 43 seconds ahead of South London Harrier Amy Billups.

Kingston’s Mollie O’Sullivan clocked 17:12 to finish fifth in the U15s race, but was 45 seconds behind winner Herne Hill Harrier Saskia Millard.

Law’s efforts helped Kingston move up to third in the U17s league table, while the U15s moved up to fourth.

Annabel Hobday was first home for the U13s team as she finished 21st – in a time of 14:15 – to help Kingston to fifth place overall.
