Dowson is loving his Kingstonian marauding marvels
Kingstonian boss Alan Dowson praised his marauding full-backs after the 3-0 Ryman Premier win over Enfield Town on Monday night.
Marcus Moody set up the killer second goal at Kingsmeadow, just two days after winning the penalty that would seal a 1-0 win at Canvey Island on Saturday.
On the other side, Aaron Goode’s forays forward had the Enfield defence back-peddling and only some last ditch blocks prevented a greater margin of victory.
In the end, an own goal, Ryan Moss’s first goal of the season and a last-second Daniel Sweeney strike saw off Enfield.
Ks keeper Rob Tolfrey was also in fine form, pulling off a string of saves to maintain a second consecutive clean sheet.
Dowson said: “Aaron had his worst season last year, and I spoke to him over the summer about stepping up his game, and he has done that so far.
“Marcus gets forward so well, and he is causing all sorts of problems.
“One of the best ways to get goals and penalties is to get into the box, and these two are excellent at it. But they also have an eye for a pass.
“Marcus’s pass for the second goal was top class.”
He added: “It is only very early days, but I am delighted with two clean sheets.
“We have strengthened at the back, and now we’re getting goals too.” Kingstonian host East Thurrock United this weekend at Kingsmeadow.
