Hampton School’s Alexander Lundberg has had a week to remember.

Not only was he called into the England U20s side for their 52-7 Six Nations victory against Italy on Friday, he was also given the captaincy for the England U18s game in Wales on Sunday, that ended in a comfortable 44-7 win.

The 18-year-old loose-head prop, pictured above, said: “I was delighted to be selected for the squad and I was thrilled to be asked to captain the side. It was a massive honour.

"I was very pleased that we managed to perform so well as a team and get the result we wanted.”

Lundberg, who is also the captain of Hampton School’s 1st XV, was drafted into the U20s squad for the Italy clash last week and made an appearance off the bench.

He said: “It was exciting but a little bit daunting. However, everyone in the U20s set up helped me a lot and made me feel welcome.

The routines for the U20s are similar, only everything is a step up in terms of speed and physicality.”
