AFC Wimbledon aim to stay unbeaten in 2013 when the League leaders come to town

AFC Wimbledon defender Curtis Osano may be missing tonight's televised League Two clash with leaders Port Vale, but he knows his mates can get a result.

Osano picked up a calf injury in the first half of the 2-2 draw with Wycombe Wanderers two weeks' ago, and while the 25-year-old says recovery is going well, he will not be available for tonight's game.

Instead, Osano is looking to be fit for the visit of Burton Albion on February 2, and he is hoping that, by then, the Dons have extended their unbeaten run to four games.

"It is a massive game tonight, but we just have to keep doing what we have been doing for the past three games," the former Rushden & Diamonds stalwart said.

"We have a presence about us now, and that is down to the manager, and everyone who goes on the pitch knows the job they have to do.

"If you make a mistake, no one needs to tell you, you know straight away and you put your hand up.

"But if the boys stick together, they are more than capable of getting result out tonight."

The Dons are unbeaten in 2013 having taken full points at Torquay United and Rochdale, and drawn at home to Wycombe.

However, Port Vale have lost only twice in 14 away games, a record that boasts nine wins - including a 2-1 victory at former leaders Gillingham two weeks' ago that put them top of the tree.

Tonight's game is being played out in front of the Sky cameras, giving the occasion an extra edge.

Osano said: "People are saying that this is a big TV game and one you want to play in, but for me it is more disappointing to be missing out because we’re putting a run together.

"To be out of the game with an injury is frustrating, but it is one of those things, and I wish the boys all the best for the game."
