Caterham runner Sophie Freeman has been selected to represent England U20s at this weekend’s McCain UK Cross Challenge Series.
The Year 12 pupil from Trinity School, Shirley Park, has had a great start to 2013 by winning the Surrey Cross-Country Championships U20s event.
She also won the Surrey Schools' 3,000m Championships, the South of England 3,000m Championships and the London Cross-Country Championships last year.
Sophie, who runs with Tonbridge AC, said: “I am really excited to have been selected for the U20 squad, particularly as I am still running at U17.”
Julia Wiskow, the head of girls’ sport at Trinity, said: "This is a tremendous achievement, and one that Sophie has worked exceptionally hard for.
"Trinity School is very proud of her success so far and wish her all the best in her forthcoming race in Antrim."
