Bees boss Uwe Rosler has told Antonio German to make the most of his second chance in the pro ranks.

The 20-year-old netted a late equaliser as Brentford held Preston North End to a 1-1 draw at Deepdale on Saturday.

German has been at Griffin Park since January after impressing Rosler while on trial from non-League outfit Bromley.

He had started his career at west London rivals QPR, but was left Loftus Road when the Hoops arrived in the Premier League in 2011.

German, signed on an 18-month deal in January, slipped into the non-League game after a brief spell at Stockport County.

And Rosler admitted only hard graft would see him carve out a future with the Bees.

"He has been in the Championship with QPR, people have forgotten that," he said.

"He has lost his way a little bit, but now he has a chance to work his way up again.

"But that only comes through daily hard work."

Keeper Moore was again in impressive form for the Bees at the weekend, but - with the exception of German's strike - it was Brentford's defensive display that caught  the manager's eye.

"Simon Moore was very solid, but I don't think he had three or four unbelievable saves," he added.

"The shots from outside the box were quite comfortable and I expect that from a talented keeper like Simon. Overall I would say he had a good strong performance.

"Apart from his one mistake, Harlee Dean had an outstanding game. The two centre halves and the two full backs were very strong.

"Other players deserved to be mentioned, especially Harlee. He has been a little up and down over the months, but at a difficult place to go he has shown what a special talent he is."

Brentford are at Swindon Town on Tuesday night.
