The refurbished Teddington Library will re-open next week - later than planned after delays in the improvement process.
The Waldegrave Road library shut last November and was due to be closed for four months with the work scheduled to finish at the end of March.
A Richmond Council spokesperson said the bad weather in February was the main cause for the delay and the library will now open next Tuesday, April 28, after the internal refurbishment was finished.
An official launch is set to take place on May 20 with live music, a local history display, children’s activities and author appearances.
The new library includes an extension which has increased the public space and allowed the installation of comfortable seating area - other work includes an improved disabled exit, better access to the garden and brand new toilet facilities as well as a separate teen section of the library and a new Young Adult book collection.
