Multi-platinum selling pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor will officially open this year's Bedford Park Festival.
The singer, best known for her hits Murder on the Dancefloor and Take Me Home, will be just one of the stars attending the green-minded summer event.
Bedford Park will go even greener between June 7 and June 22 as the neighbourhood turns its attention to Make Every Day a Green Day activities.
The fortnight of arts and community events will raise funds for Musequality, which helps disadvantaged children through music projects.
Linked with the capital-wide Love London green festival, the Bedford Park event will urge residents to promote sustainability in W4.
For the first two days, the 42nd Bedford Park Festival will go super green with a Green Days weekend (June 7 to June 8). The fete, funfair and craft sale will be on Acton Green, opposite Turnham Green Tube station.
On Thursday, June 19, there will be a special green night at St Michael and All Angels Parish Hall. Businesses and community groups will talk to residents about how to reduce Chiswick's carbon footprint.
Torin Douglas, co-ordinator of the festival, said: "With fuel bills rocketing and much greater awareness of the need to protect the planet, lots of people have been asking what can be done here in Chiswick. We're bringing them together on green night and we hope the combination of community groups, businesses, councillors and residents means we really can make every day a green day."
Speakers on the night will include environment adviser to the Archbishop of Canterbury, David Shreeve, and Nicola Guiggioli of Chiswick High Road shop, Eco Age, who will launch a campaign to turn Chiswick into an eco-village.
