Oyster card travel is coming to Kew Bridge Station. South West Trains has applied to Hounslow planners for permission to install two Oyster card validators at Kew Bridge Station. The company is also asking for sanction to put in seven of the card reading machines at Barnes Station.  Last year ten train operators agreed to introduce the facility by 2009 and share a £20 installation subsidy from the mayor. More than ten million of the cards have been issued in London.

The new scheme will provide new affordable and privately owned homes and improve the local area from Beavers Lane to Clements Court.  The total cost will be £29m, of which £21m will come from the private sector through the sale of new homes, £5.6m from the Area Reneal Fund and the remaining £2.5m will come from the council.
