Sporting Background: A member of Croydon Harriers Athletics Club he will be looking to make his mark at the games, with his only other previous honour being a semi-final place at the 2010 European Athletics Championships in Barcelona.

He says: "Not many athletes get a chance to compete at a home Olympics so it is exciting but you have to train and stay focused as much as possible, and try to do everything normally."

We say: "The Jamaicans and USA runners have taken the time required to win the 100m to well under 10s so all Britain’s sprinters will be up against it. An appearance in the final would be an excellent achievement."
