My father, Gary Lawrence is turning 70 this year. He grew up in the St Johns fire station in Richmond with his whole family until his father, Albert Lawrence, took him and migrated to Australia when he was 11 years of age (approx 1958).
Unfortunately, my father ending up running away and having a very hard time in Australia during his teenage years, until he met my Mother. His fondest memories are of his time at the fire station and with his best friend, Stan Powell.
I am hoping to find Stan and anyone who may remember him as I am traveling to the UK in October and would love to interview/record them to create a DVD to present to him on his 70th birthday. Please help me to make this a great celebration of his early life.
