Written by BAFTA winning playwright Stephen Beresford (Pride), this intense modern drama follows the Haussman family – an outrageous ageing hippy mother and her two grown-up children: alcoholic son, Nick, and daughter, Libby, who’s on the edge of a nervous breakdown.
Gathering at their dilapidated family home on the Devon coast, the children struggle to prevent the loss of their inheritance whilst trying to manage the health and instability of their mother and a future full of uncertainty.
Expect all day drinking, infatuations and long held resentments resulting in emotional and physical chaos.
First performed at the National Theatre, London, the play was described by The Telegraph as ‘A stunning debut play’, and by The Observer as ‘A knockout play – entertaining, sad and outrageous’.
