My friend has her wedding reception booked at Stokes and Moncrieff in Twickenham. She has paid her deposit and send out the invitations as the wedding is a month away.
On Thursday 18th May she found out that the venue is closed as it is undergoing renovations. The new joint owners are Karma Group (60%) and ex international rugby player Simon Shaw.
She only found this out by going to the venue to finalise arrangements, such as seating, food etc. The builders in doing the renovations said that they are not the first couple to find out it's closed and that the venue wouldn't be ready for the wedding date.
No one has made contact and informed her of this. Karma Group have been contacted however obviously don't feel it's a priority and haven't replied.
This has potentially ruined what is supposed to be the best and most memorable day of a Brides life!
