The Falcons School for Boys is celebrating the incredible artistic talents of its pupils on Saturday (20 May) by showcasing over 400 pieces of work at its annual art exhibition.

To be held at St Michael and All Angels Church, Bath Road, Chiswick, from 6pm to 7pm, boys from across the Pre-Preparatory and the Preparatory school will present their best pieces of artwork from the school year to visitors, including a very special guest.

Professional London-based artist, Luke Martineau will be officially opening the exhibition and will be on hand to offer advice to the boys before picking out his favourite pieces of artwork.

Luke has a wealth of knowledge with a particular passion for landscapes, however he also creates stunning portraits and has been commissioned to paint various members of the Royal family.  He is the President of the Chelsea Art Society.

Guests will be able to view a variety of art forms, including paintings, ceramics, collages and print work. They will also be able to take part in a silent auction on specially designed pieces in aid of two charities.

Each year group has worked together to create a large canvas painting. The proceeds from the auction will go to the school’s chosen charity, The House of Daraa, a Syrian relief charity.

However, the money raised from one of the paintings will be donated to The Poppy Factory, based in Richmond. The school has close affiliations with the factory and wanted to do a little extra for the third World War One commemoration year.

Head of Art and Design at Falcons School for Boys Isabella Broadbent, commented: “This is an exciting time of the year where we celebrate the exceptional artwork the boys have created. It is also a great opportunity to raise money for two very important causes.

“The pupils have made a great effort and it is wonderful the general public is able to come and view the exhibition. We can’t thank Luke enough for his time as well, which will provide pricless inspiration to the boys.”
