During the last couple of weeks I noticed damage, which was made worse during this past weekend.  Someone has been peeling away the bark of this young tree at Radnor Gardens.

This tree has now essentially been killed. I don't believe that no one noticed it happening. An open spot on a tree makes it susceptible to insect damage.

It is such a shame, as the tree is one of a lovely group in the middle of the grassed area by the river, opposite the Alexander Pope Pub. I would like to know who it was, most likely kids or teenagers. (Really hope that adults and pupils from St Mary's Uni have more brainpower than to do this kind of damage.)
