In just 11 days Mark Barun of Richmond will run his first ever London Marathon and he has chosen to raise money to help support those people in Richmond Borough who give up their time, energy, social lives, hobbies and often employment to care for a loved one.

Caring for someone else can seriously impact a carers own mental and physical wellbeing, leading to loneliness, isolation, stress, financial difficulties and deteriorating health.

There are approximately 15,000 unpaid carers in Richmond Borough alone and Carers Trust estimates that 3 in 5 of us will provide a caring role at some point in our lives. Carers UK reported in November 2015 that the UK's 6.8 million carers save the government £132 billion a year.

By sponsoring Mark you can help Richmond Carers Centre provide essential advice, information and emotional support to local unpaid carers to help them cope better with the demands of caring, and maintain their own health and wellbeing. To donate go to https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/5883
