Patrick Cockburn from the Independent recently reviewed the book: The Battle for Syria: International Rivalry in the New Middle East by Christopher Phillips "... is one of the best informed and non-partisan accounts of the Syrian tragedy yet published".
Christopher Phillips is a senior lecturer at Queen Mary University of London and associate fellow at Chatham House where he founded the Syria and its Neighbours Policy Initiative.
