People braved freezing temperatures this morning as snow began to fall across Richmond.

South West Trains is running a reduced service today after the Met Office warned last night people should prepare for several centimetres of snow.

Schools in the borough remain open this morning, but some including Stanley Primary and St Mary’s Church of England Primary have said parents can pick their children up at lunchtime if the weather conditions worsen.

Council gritters were salting the roads last night and will be working throughout the day to keep roads as safe as possible.
