Barnes and Mortlake History Society’s new events programme opens with a talk by Marie Smith entitled A walk around Sheen Vale.
The talk will reveal the history of the area and the significance of some of the buildings, past and present.
It starts at 8pm on Thursday, September 17, at the Sheen Lane Centre, Sheen Lane, East Sheen, and will be followed by a social hour.
The society offers cut-price membership: anyone joining this year gets full membership to the end of 2010.
