It was As and Bs galore for fellow Richmond students Eve Kekeh and Lucy Tomlinson, both 18, when they opened their results at Richmond College.

Keen dancer Eve, of Grove Road, Twickenham will now go on to Manchester to study international management and American business with the hopes of spending a year studying at UCLA.

She said: “All this morning and the last couple of months I have been so worried, especially this morning I thought I was not going to get in.

“I’m very happy.”

Soon to be graphics student Lucy Tomlinson, of Heathfield, added: “I’m going to Plymouth. I was so nervous and really thought I was going to fail history so getting a B was amazing. Everyone I spoke to seems to have done really well.”

TV star set to delve into history

One Richmond College celebrity looks set to follow his passion for history all the way to Kings College London after scooping two A*s and an A.

Kay-Kay Marivate, who recently appeared in televised public speaking competition The Speaker on BBC2, said history had been his hobby since he was a child.

He said: “It’s always been my favourite subject since primary school and a hobby of mine really.

“It was a very anxious wait [for results though] as it doesn’t matter how well one does in exams for some reason everyone gets paranoid.”

Double success for college friends

Richmond college students Rhys Williams, 18, and Stephen Cowley, also 18, were both pleased with their results.

Rhys, of Lincoln Avenue, Twickenham, said he was looking forward to studying geology but was still not sure where he would be heading.

He said: “I haven’t slept at all I was very anxious and three mates of mine all texted each other straight away with results after staying up all night.It is a relief it is finally over.”

But Stephen, of Meadway, Twickenham, is all set with his choice and will head to St Mary’s University College to study sport and exercise science.

He said: “I’m going to study sports science and want to go into teaching afterwards as I was inspired in secondary school by their overall sports teaching.”

High grade delight for future pediatric nurse

Exceeding her expected A-level results led to delight for one Richmond College student as she prepares to head to Canterbury to take up a place studying pediatric nursing.

Lauren Yerby, 18, of Blandford Avenue, got an A* and A and a B.

She said: “I’m so happy. I got up at six to look at the results.

“I can’t wait to start my course, I just like caring for people and love children and their families.”
