It is often said that dancing helps to keep you young.
So the motivation for this bunch of boppers must be purely pleasure – as most of them are still in primary school.
The future clubbers have been showing off their moves at Kids Go Disco, an afternoon of “clubbing” for youngsters organised by two mums from Teddington.
But the sell-out club nights don’t take place in the usual early hours of the morning, instead they are held on Saturday afternoons at Oceana nightclub in Kingston.
Nicola Hobrough, 36, and Niamh Sharma, 42, whose eldest daughters Harriet, six, and Tara, five, are in the same class at school said the idea struck them after they struggled to find children’s events that parents could enjoy too.
Mrs Hobrough said: “With many things, you take your kids there but it’s never really very pleasurable for the rest of the family.”
Harking back to their clubbing days, the pair decided to investigate venues.
Mrs Sharma said: “We were far too old to go to Oceana after dark, so we thought ‘why not go during the day?’”
Jules Doherty, of Hampton, said the event was a hit for her, her husband Johnny and sons Josh, seven, and Joel, two.
The estate agent said: “It was fantastic, a lovely atmosphere. It was nice to have a chance to have a party with the kids that didn’t feel too ‘kiddish’. It’s not on every week so it’s sort of a family treat.”
Lisa Moynihan, who went to a session with husband Patrick, and twins Niamh and Rory, six, agreed.
The mum, of Teddington, said: “We had a great time. At first I wasn’t really sure what it was going to be like. I was a bit apprehensive, but it was just so nice to see the kids running around.”
She added: “The adults did get up and dance, and so did my husband, which was quite unusual.”
There are also plans for a story writing competition based around the cartoon children from the company’s logo.
The contest will be aimed at pupils in Richmond primary schools and will, the mums hope, result in a book of stories about the characters’ adventures.
Mrs Sharma said: “It’s been stressful at times, but a lot of fun.”
Mrs Hobrough added: “I’ve definitely felt urges to relive my clubbing days. You just get sucked back into that whole atmosphere. I definitely want to do it again.”
The disco sessions take place between 2pm and 5pm on Saturdays.
