Parents' anxious wait is over after the future of Turing House School, in Teddington, was secured at a cabinet meeting of Richmond Council.
A final decision was made to temporarily house pupils in Clarendon School in Hanworth Road, Hampton, which will be vacated next July, ready for the intake of Turing House year seven students in September 2018.
The school expects to occupy both their original Teddington site and the temporary Hampton one until the planned permanent accommodation in Whitton is ready in 2020.
Councillor Susan Chappell, strategic cabinet member for children’s services and schools, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to step in and offer this temporary accommodation for Turing House.
“I know that negotiations between the Education and Skills Funding Agency and Hounslow Council have taken longer than expected. I am sure many parents are anxious about this.
“This interim accommodation will hopefully reassure parents, carers and children that the school will be able to keep going and growing.”
