The Richmond and Twickenham Times has been sent some proof that it’s not just cats killing pigeons.
Michael Bernard, who lives in Hampton, opened his window a few weeks ago only to be met with an eye-catching sight - a bird of prey “eating a pigeon for breakfast”.
In the photograph the pigeon, whose feathers had most certainly been ruffled, was lying massacred on the grass under a rather determined looking bird of prey.
Mr Bernard said: “Cats get a poor press in part due to the killing of birds.
“However, they are not always the guilty party as can be seen in the picture above.”
