A Conservative party group for St Margarets and North Twickenham twice retweeted controversial public figure Katie Hopkins the day of the Parsons Green terrorist attack.

On September 15, the day 30 people were injured when a make-shift bomb in a Lidl bag exploded on The District Line, St Margarets Tories retweeted Hopkins saying: “The truth of Britain today. Resist the narrative you are fed.”

Under was a picture of two women caught up in the attack.

The group also retweeted a video of Hopkins asking “has the world gone mad?” in which she spoke about Brexit and US president Donald Trump suggesting “the left want to silence voices from the right” and “the powerful think these were the wrong answers”.

On the same day, Hopkins jokingly tweeted: “It’s going to be a busy day at Lidl.”

Twitter users slammed the comment, with one saying: “It's only a busy day for you Katie Hopkins if there's other people's misery to feed from then convert into hatred and spew to your fans.”

She later tweeted: “My angrier self would joke and try to capitalise on #ParsonsGreen, I just hope everyone is ok. Thoughts and prayers.”

The Daily Mail Columnist also a posted a photoshopped picture of a Protein World advert, which she had changed to read: “Are you bomb bag ready?”.

The image also featured an image of the Lidl bag containing the bomb.

Hopkins has come under fire for various “inappropriate” tweets in the past.

She was fired from her show on radio station LBC in May after calling for a “final solution” in the wake of the Manchester Arena terrorist attack, which claimed 23 lives.

She was reported to the police as a result.

Hopkins quickly deleted the comment, which read: “22 dead- number rising. Schofield. Don’t you even dare. Do not be part of the problem. We need a final solution.”

Local Twickenham resident Chris Key, said he was “astonished” to see St Margarets Tories had retweeted Hopkins.

He said: “I was amazed to see that St Margarets Conservatives feel the need to re-tweet the comments of Katie Hopkins.

“The self-publicist who called for a ‘final solution’ for Muslims, echoing words of the Nazis and she was fired from LBC for doing so.

“And the same publicist who described refugees as ‘vermin’.

“That local Tories share the views of such a vile individual as Katie Hopkins should be a clear indicator of their values.”

St Margarets and North Twickenham Conservatives has been contacted for comment.
