Two new non-executive directors have been appointed to Richmond’s local NHS trust board and will contribute to the overall strategy of the trust.

NHS improvement confirmed Joanne Hay and Phil Hall will join the Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust board of directors from August 1.

Ms Hay and Mr Hall will serve three-year terms, until July 31 2020, scrutinising performance and making sure that financial controls, governance and assurance systems across the organisation are robust and transparent

Stephen Swords, chairman of HRCH, said: “We are pleased to confirm the appointments of Joanne and Philip to our trust board.

“They bring a wealth of experience and expertise which will enable us to further develop community health services for local people across Hounslow and Richmond.”

Ms Hay is currently chief executive of Teens and Toddlers, a UK charity that helps children and young people develop the skills and self-belief they need to achieve their potential and has held previous roles including head of strategy at the

NSPCC.

Mr Hall owns a management consultancy company responsible for providing constructive challenge, insightful advice and coaching support to senior managers in a range of organisations across the public and private sectors.

NHS Improvement is an organisation responsible for appointing all chairs and non-executives to NHS trusts throughout England.

Each appointment is subject to the Code of Practice of the Commissioner for Public Appointments and are made following an open competition based on merit, in a way that is open, transparent and fair to all applicants.

Both non-executive directors are entitled to receive remuneration of £6,157 per annum.
