Nominations for Richmond’s fifth annual Dignity in Care Awards, recognising outstanding care work in the borough, are now open.

People in Richmond are being asked to send in their nominations between now and Thursday July 28 if they have seen or experienced exemplary care demonstrating dignity, compassion and respect.

David Marlow, Richmond Council Cabinet Member for Adults’ Services, spoke of the importance of acknowledging the efforts of those working in care.

He said: “First-class care for those who need it most is at the heart of what we do at the Council.

“These awards are about recognising all those unsung heroes within our community who go the extra mile.

“I would like to encourage as many people as possible to make a nomination so no one misses out.”

The awards aim to recognise good quality care within the borough while raising awareness of dignity in care and inspiring local care workers and personal assistants.

Nominations are open in the categories of Carer of the of the Year for home support and day care, Carer of the Year for care homes, Carer of the Year for learning disabilities or Personal Assistant of the Year.
