A remembrance service for the victims on Monday’s terror attack in Manchester will be held in Twickenham this weekend.

The service at St Mary’s Church from 9.30am on Sunday (May 28) will be led by Reverend Jeffery Hopkin-Williams and attended by Mayor of Richmond, councillor Lisa Blakemore.

Candles will be lit for each life lost in the attack.

Cllr Blakemore said: “Words cannot describe the absolute shock and devastation I felt as the horrific news unfolded of terrorism perpetrated on innocent children and families in Manchester.

“The theme of my Mayoral year is about compassion and tolerance in communities with a special focus on our children. This barbaric act reflects the absolute opposite intention and is utterly intolerable in any decent world.

“My thoughts are with the families of those who have lost someone or have been injured in this vile act of terror.

“My chaplain in this coming year is Reverend Hopkins-Williams and I will be attending this special service on Sunday.

“I hope that many people will join us on Sunday morning and light a candle to remember those who died, lost loved ones or were injured.”
