How to make your money go further using 21st-century media was the theme of a business seminar which the boss of the Richmond & Twickenham Times was the expert speaker at.

Last year Newsquest, which publishes this newspaper and many others across south London and Surrey, won two Drum awards for best use of digital media for commercial gain and most innovative digital publisher.

As best in class, Newsquest regional managing director Tony Portelli was asked to outline the company’s online offering, describing concepts such as dwell time, recall and reach in detail to local businesses, non-profits and councillors.

The event was held by Richmond Chamber of Commerce at Richmond the American International University in London.

'As a sales and marketing director myself by background, I recognise traditional business development professional practice in this offering and so all that is different here is that technology is working faster and smarter than any human can."
