Police officers and firefighters rescued a man who was threatening to kill himself by jumping out of a 40ft tree last night.
Officers and crews from Richmond fire station were called to help a man who had climbed large tree near Roehampton Gate in Richmond Park shortly before 11pm on Sunday, March 19.
At about 12.40am the man, who is approximately 50 years old, agreed to come down and firefighters used a large ladder to retrieve him.
Although he did not commit any criminal offences, according to the Metropolitan Police, the man was sectioned under the Mental Health Act for treatment.
