Twickenham MP Tania Mathias says she is “excited by the long-awaited opportunity to rejuvenate” the riverside, despite negative feedback from residents.
MONDAY: Twickenham residents reject riverside proposals as consultation results revealed
The consultation into the Twickenham riverside development found that less than only 59 of 778 respondents felt the plans were a good idea.
But Dr Mathias said she is hopeful that Richmond Council will be able to amend the plans to satisfy the negative responses.
She said: “I am excited by the long awaited opportunity to rejuvenate Twickenham riverside.
“I was pleased to see that so many local residents engaged with the consultation, whether online or in person in the Church Street pop-up shop.
“I know that there is a plurality of views on the best way forward and I hope that the council will be open to all suggestions and will be prepared to amend the design to reflect local views.”
