Budding young musicians at Daryll Primary school, Richmond, received 32 brightly coloured ukuleles from a friend of their music teacher this week.
Pupils from years five and six were "delighted" when teacher Kim Bloomfield unveiled the instruments on Wednesday.
Ms Ingram said: "It was like Christmas come early for them."
