An award-winning Teddington portrait artist is on the hunt for a group of ladies "with a glint in their eye" for his next work.

Morgan Penn, whose work has been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, is hoping to find a lively group of women aged 65 and over for his next project.

Mr Penn said there is a good chance the ladies would be able to see themselves hung in the National Portrait Gallery next summer should the painting be a success.

He said: "How fantastic for a group of friends to be imortalised in oil on canvas, being lively and fabulous forever.

"It is a non commercial project, but I can supply lots of Pimms and of course a reproduction of the portrait for each person when it is completed."

Mr Penn is hoping to start the sitting in the next few weeks and said he is aiming to create a piece similar to his The Critics painting.

Anyone interested should email a photo of themselves or their group to morgan.penn@ntlworld.com.
