A "police raid" on a Thai massage parlour in Strawberry Hill was just to check the staff were eligible to work in the UK, said the salon’s management.
A man, who wanted to remain anonymous, said he saw "about 15" policemen enter the Baan Thai Massage in Wellesley Parade at about 11am today but said it appeared they had not found what they were looking for.
He said: "I don’t know what they were looking for."
An employee at the massage parlour said the police had just come round to check the staff had the correct visas to live and work in the UK.
She said: "They checked all our staff. It is not a big problem, everything is fine now.
"The police and immigration come a lot to check our visas. Everyone here is from Thailand but we have visas to work here."
A police spokesman said: "On Tuesday, May 19, at about 11:20hrs officers from Twickenham borough carried out a licensing visit at an address in Wellesley Road, Twickenham.
"No offences were discovered.
"No arrests."
